From the box office to the platform

Six years in premium operations with the Cavaliers, then a year running ticket operations for the Browns. The platform work later made more sense because I had already lived the building.

Context

I started in the building, not at the vendor. Ohio University, sports administration, then the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2007 to 2013 and the Cleveland Browns from 2015 to 2016. Veritix sits between those two clubs on the timeline. This page is the operator chapter.

Problem

Premium and ticket operations fail in small, expensive ways: a suite order that depends on a radio, a box office procedure that does not survive a rush, a mobile ticket launch that the staff cannot explain.

Approach

  • Cavaliers. Suite and premium seating operations at Quicken Loans Arena. SharePoint automation for manual workflows. The arena’s first in-suite merchandise ordering system.
  • Browns. Mobile ticketing implementation, a 20-person box office, and new customer service procedures.
